Welcome to the City of Norwalk Marriage Kiosk. This online service will enable you to begin the process of applying for your marriage license, saving you time when visiting the Clerk’s office. Once the online application is submitted, you will need to contact the Norwalk Town Clerk’s office at 203-854-7747 to make an appointment to appear in person to complete the process. The information will be pending with the Clerk’s office until such time. After 90 days, your information will expire from the system if no license is issued and the application process will need to start again.

You will need to enter the name and telephone number for your officiant. If you have not selected one and you are interested in using a Norwalk Justice of the Peace, please see the List of Norwalk Justices of the Peace included in our Marriage License information on our website.
Please bring the following items to your appointment:

  1. Both parties need to appear.
  2. Your government issued, valid photo ID.
  3. The $50 fee for the marriage license, this can be paid by check, cash or money order.
After the ceremony:
If you wish to receive a certified copy (a marriage certificate), the fee is $20 per copy. You would need a certified copy if you wish to change your name, or for insurance purposes, any time you need proof of marriage, etc. The marriage license itself comes back to the Town Clerk’s office after your ceremony and remains as a permanent record. You may request your certified copies after our office receives the return of your license.
